OUR STORY
Hi, I’m Bear—owner of Durango Balloon Company and Mountain Party Rental. My journey in balloon décor and event rentals began on Oʻahu, Hawaii, where I trained with the talented team at Hawaii Balloon Company.
After graduating from Fort Lewis College in 2011, I returned to Durango with my wife, Emma—a fourth-generation local—to share our passion for creating memorable celebrations.
Today, our family-run businesses are dedicated to bringing joy to the Durango community through vibrant balloon designs and quality party rentals. We look forward to helping you make your next event truly special.
We kicked off our journey in February 2018 with an unforgettable debut at the Snowdown Light Parade. Our team transformed a friend's VW Van with vibrant decorations, inflated stunning 3FT LED Helium Balloons, and distributed over 300 cheerful red balloons We were thrilled to take home 2nd Place in Snowdown's Best Balloon Float, marking the beginning of our colorful adventure!
In February 2019, we made a grand return with our spectacular SPIDERMAN themed float, capturing the attention of the crowd and taking home 1st Place in the Best Balloon Category at the Snowdown Light Parade. Our dedication and creativity truly shone through, making this event one to remember
Post 2019 parade, we went on to celebrate our 1 year 'Ballooniversary,' with a large balloon drop, live music from the HILLSTOMPERS, and hosted a costume contest inside the Main Mall in Downtown Durango!
