OUR STORY
Aloha! I’m Bear, owner/operator of Durango Balloon Company & Mountain Party Rental.
In 2014 (while living in Honolulu), I applied for a unique Balloon Shop Manager
position just down the street from where I grew up.
Owners of Hawaii Balloon Company (Hawaii's largest balloon decor and party rental business) graciously brought me on and taught me the art and business of professional Balloon Decor and Special Event Rentals (with their combined 60+ years of experience in the industry.)
After graduating from Fort Lewis College, I met my wife Emma (a 4th generation durangoan) and together we decided to bring our Balloon and Party Rental knowledge back to Durango with us, raise a family and reconnect with our local community while having fun!
February 2018: We started Durango Balloon Company with our first balloon decor event- the Snowdown
Light Parade. Here we decorated our friends VW Van in Downtown Durango, inflated 3FT LED Helium Balloons, handed out 300+ Red Balloons, and took 2nd Place in Snowdowns Best Balloon Float.
February 2019: We returned bigger and better with our SPIDERMAN themed float, and took 1st Place in the Best Balloon Category for the Snowdown Light Parade.
Post 2019 parade, we went on to celebrate our 1 year 'Ballooniversary,' with a large balloon drop, live music from the HILLSTOMPERS, and hosted a costume contest inside the Main Mall in Downtown Durango!
The Main Mall Balloon Drop has now become an Annual Snowdown Durango Event for our friends, family & local community to get together and celebrate!
